"God sent His Prophets into the world to teach and enlighten man, to explain to him the mystery of the Power of the Holy Spirit, to enable him to reflect the light, and so in his turn, to be the source of guidance to others."
Abdu'l-Baha

God and His Messengers

In Baha'i teachings God is, and always has been, the Creator. Man was created through God's love:

“Veiled in My immemorial being and in the ancient eternity of My essence, I knew My love for thee; therefore I created thee.”

The purpose of man's existence as taught by Baha'u'llah is to know and to worship God, and “to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization.”

Baha'u'llah taught that there is one God Who progressively reveals His will to humanity. Each of the great religions brought by the Messengers of God – Krishna, Moses, Zoroaster, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad -- represents a successive stage in the spiritual development of civilization.

Baha'u'llah, the most recent Messenger in this line, has brought teachings that address the moral and spiritual challenges of the modern world.
